I got a beauty here. Used to play with it 20yrs ago. It’s just been in storage. Leaks now, took to a shop to get fixed. Says the “cup valve” is leaking and couldn’t fix it. I just noticed he didn’t put it back together correctly. Has the frame split. Anyone able to help me get this guy in playing shape again?

Thanks! I’ve never taken it fully apart myself. Cup seal a pain? Great. I’ve got some O rings laying around I can try but the repair guy said he tried every one he has. I don’t even know what it looks like though.
Theres now a gap between the trigger body and the slide body.
Not sure if I wanna sell it. My sons getting into playing and I’d like to this ole gal up to speed.

The cup seal is inside the valve body itself. There is a C ring that you remove to get inside the valve body to remove the Cup seal. I was lucky enough to have someone print me a new seal and repair the leak on my Z1.
is the valve body pushed back into the body nice and flush ? Hat would make a gap if not.
I can pull one apart after work tonight and lay it all out and snap some pictures for you.

Once the bras part of the cup seal blows out the oring, I’ve never been able to put one in and keep it working. You need to source a complete cupseal.
nonblitus, tell us more about your printed solution pretty please. These cupseals are finite, and the ones out there are almost 30 years old…
Oh and to the op, order some hammer bumpers from Doc. You will likely need one and his are the only game in town that are viable at this point. Very hard to find an nos bumper that isn’t disintegrating.
Also if the frame is pushing away the front body, just screw in the velocity adjustment a bit.
very nice I have one just like it.

Wow I’m starting feel undeserving of even having the pretty lady. Got used when 25yrs ago. Worked great for me then. No issues. Clearly I had no idea what I had. (Kids these days) I have a 3D printer if you willing to send me the file I can print and not hold any results against you.
also what’s a hammer bumper, where’s it go? Sorry for being so naive about such a classic

If you remove the top rail, there should be a "rubberish" plug in the rear of the chamber on the rail. When the hammer blows back, the rod out of the top hits the bumper. If it disintegrates or isn't there at all, the rod hits the back of the body causing it to deform and then you can't get it out. Also the shooting the gun will make your hand hurt after a while if its not there lol.

I took a few wine corks and cut them with a razor blade to make some bumpers and surprisingly have held up pretty well

No lathe. Maybe it’s just better for me to share her with someone else that has the tools, understanding and time to give it the love it needs. Then use $ to get one so I can play with my son. I’m not sentimental just hoped to shoot him with something twice his age. Well I do have a pump Hammer that works just fine 😉

I have 33 montneel Z-1 rentals for sale. The bodies are anodized red. Most are in good shape. Most have angle feednecks. I will sort thru and pick the nicest ones. They haven't been used in over 15 years. Right now I have no way to test for leaks, only have hpa and tanks are getting hydro'd. Price is 60.00 each (includes 16.95

It is beautiful. Still even has the matching shoe, and trigger guard is intact. That represents the "best you could buy" for its time, in my opinion.
Bacci had a good supply of cupseals but I think his finally dried up. I used my last unopened "rebuild kit" on a spotless, but leaking, AK1 I picked up hear a few months ago.
I bought up most of those rentalZs to have the parts to keep the rest of my fleet running.
I'm sure its something that could be fabbed simple enough?
