Looks like friday game is some easter-egghunt/dodgeball/quidditch like thing:

Friday July 25th Mini Game-Monster Ball
Objective of Monster Ball Whoever has the most points at the end of this game wins the choice of Starting Insertion for Sundays Final Battle.
    Length of Game: 1.5 hour
Fields in play: Black Lagoon, Castle, Mini Grinder, Grinder and Village.

Team Commander/Xo will flip a coin to choose which starting point they will begin at. Starting points are. Value City Sign and Bridge too far on Fort Meyers side.

Each commander can have up to 4 Monster Ball Seekers.

    Monster Ball Seekers:
A monster Ball seekers objective is to find all of their colored balls in the fields in play that are hidden and return them to the starting position and place them in the designated container. If a ball is not in the container by the time the 1.5 hour game is up it does not count.

A monster ball seeker can be eliminated and have to re-spawn. If they are holding a ball as they are hit they must drop it in play then re-spawn.

A monster ball seeker can use their own colored ball to defend themselves by throwing it at an opposing player but does not count as a shield, if the ball is hit they are out.

If a monster ball seeker touches an opposing ball color they will be eliminated and have to re-spawn.

A monster Ball seeker cannot have a shield or weapon.

At the end of the game all of the balls collected in the designated bin will be counted for 10 points per ball.

    Players: Basic Elimination
    First 60 minutes: Unlimited Re-spawn.
    Last 30 minutes: Single elimination.
    Players may not carry shields.
Players cannot touch any of the balls in doing so they will be eliminated, re-spawn and lose 10 points. This means, No kicking, no tossing, no touching of any kind.
When the final 1.5 hours are up the remaining players alive on the field will each be worth 50 points.

Let's always remember not to be dicks. While I can't find it... They even posted an image about the event being BYOP, it's not cool to use reballs, pepperballs, and other solid/non-paint projectiles out of your marker. Some people's children.

Still can't stand that people use glitterball, but that's a different story.

I lost a lens to massive glitterball scratches couple years back, wish it was banned.

I played with the So Mich group for the red team, had a great time. Felt like we pushed the green team back to their spawn point all weekend.

The weather turned out better than expected so that was a bonus.

Yeah, it felt like green had very few regular players.

I appear to have had a different opinion, and played green. Played friday evening "quidditch" thing, which was interesting, and was basically just the front part of the field (village->staging). Player count worked well for the size, and the game was relatively interesting. It was supposed to be 90 minutes, but they swapped up play times from thursday to make it 3 hours, which may have been too long.

Saturday we started around 930 (30 minutes late), and just walked through the firefight at the staging/castle area fight in the back area51/bravo fight. And repeated this couple more times during the rest of the day, only being held at the green-zone starting area for the last 30 minutes on Saturday. So complete opposite of of CSTX_PB's experience. I assume just timing of openings maybe, but if you haven't played the field before, you need to know you can ignore the localized firefights (sometimes, not always).

Sunday swapped to entering on the left side, and battled at west point/helicopter most of the day, but as people slowed down, got rolled back a bit. Ended the normal day of play on the hillside below tippman castle shooting out red as they climbed the hill from the small-pond side.

Final Battle - nothing to talk about.

Weather was the normal hot and humid, but we got lucky and didn't get the thunderstorms during the day that were predicted on saturday.

Reffing was fine, nothing special, but the ref's were watching out for safety, and were actively walking the field. The new chrono concept of doing it on every entry, instead of tagging once in the morning, actually flowed much better than I expected.

Paint quality - BYOP so I can't comment on the field paint this year.

Overall game, never felt that we being crushed (or crushing) for long periods of time. I didn't expect to win as a team at the end, but both days was some good paintball in the back area with a large group of players on both sides. I, and the other 5 in my group, had a good time this year. This was the first year we played on the weekdays, and that went well (i pretty much only expect the hardcore and the locals to show up for those). The normal big weekend play was also good. New field bunkers and improvements changed things quite a bit in some areas (area51/bravo is vastly different now with a wall), and wider bridges.

Our group is is happy to integrate solo players into our group from MCB at any future MMG, feel free to reach out. Playing these large games without some support can be frustrating.

I agree that the entry chrono system flowed pretty well. I hope it deterred people from cranking up their velocity.

Just curious... Where did everyone end up parking if you didn't have VIP?
We used to just get a camp site back in the day, but with the cost of those skyrocketing, I wondered where they parked everyone for big events now.
