    Micromag Rebuilds

Hello! I’m new to this forum. But I was on pbnation since its inception but been out of paintball for 23 years. My dad had what I believe to be the first micromag ever. It is a 4” fixed barrel and looks like a pistol. Later, when I was out of the game, he somehow scored a ton of paintball gear for cheap. One being a probably 2000ish red splash micromag. Has vertical feed, cocker threads, and I believe and ANS valve if I remember correctly. The fixed barrel micromag is burned into the memory of all of my friends and my siblings as well. It’ sounds like a legit gun and could be cranked so high that it felt like one without breaking paint. My father passed a year ago and these are rotting in the basement. I’m pretty mechanically inclined and love to tinker. Even though I don’t play anymore, I’d like to get both up and running. I’d also like to potentially put and RT valve in level 10 in the newer style one. My dads I want to keep stock. I emailed airgun designs but I believe they are on hiatus while they get some stuff sorted. Where is the best place to buy the valves and rebuild kits? I see stuff on eBay etc but I know some old school guys are probably around and better. Thank you for the help!

If you're looking for a rt micromag valve with a level 10 I could be the guy. Could also ship it working.

Actually, I can’t message you yet due to not having enough posts. But I’m definitely interested in the valve

It also had a barrel mounted red dot when they first became that small in like 1993. When you saw the dot you knew you were screwed.

Looks like you have a Gen 1 and gen 3 micromag. Very nice!

That red splash one is probably worth some money these days. Keep all those splash parts together whatever you do

Nice micromag's! You mentioned that the short barreled one is a fixed barrel? I never knew that the early micromags were like that. The earliest i have ever used was a gen 2 (i think). Is it machined as one piece or does it just attach with something other than an autococker thread?

                      They are unibody

Neat! I wonder if that would make machining time and difficulty more or less with the barrel and body as one piece.

Nice I didn’t realize that micromag was a gen 3 and wasn’t vertical feed. Its been years since gassing it up but I believe it leaks out the side of the valve whhhch is a prong issue I’m sure. Hadn’t pulled it out in a minute. And yes the first one is a fixed barrel unibody. Literally sounds like a handgun when it goes off. It’s surprisingly much more accurate than you would think. Really appreciate all the help!

Finally moving forward with these builds. I realized my old air America raptor Rex has a good high pressure output so just received a rebuild kit for that. Also purchasing an HK 800psi output tank. I bought and AGD rebuild kit for the gen 1 and superman is going to help me out with a micromag rt valve for the gen 3. Can’t wait to get these up and running! What oil does everyone like to use for their mags. I know non petroleum based grease like Dow for any hpa reg but if I remember correctly mags had a petroleum based oil lube packaged under AGD?
