Best long shot marker for use with first strike?

I'm currently looking over to replace my old gear (currently a A5 with tacamo MKV modified to accept helix magazines, with a rifled barrel from Hammedhead) with something new from the store, with better air efficiency, that allows first strike rounds, hopefully stock rifle barrel or really good barrel that doesn't need to be updated right away, preferably semi-auto

I've been looking into Carmatech, MCS and Emek EMF100, but cannot get into a decision (really wanted a CCM, but currently out of stock and no signs of coming back)

From the price point, a "basic" Carmatech is around the same price as a "fancy" MCS 468 so I was leaning toward the Carmatech, but have no idea on the EMF100, all I know is that is really air efficient, but not enough info on long distance shots.

PS: I didn't wanted to use "sniper rifle" right away, cos that would create a completely different discussion

It's pretty hard to beat an EMF100. I would assume with all variable being equal (FPS of ball, length of barrel, type of barrel) all of these markers will shoot the same distance.

      Emf100 hands down.

As far as a sniper rifle is concerned with first strike rounds, I've used the ccm sr1 and the ccm ssr. Both coupled with the right rifled barrel perform amazing on the field. With my old SR1, my furthest shot was 110 yards at a scenario game at EMR. The SSR, my longest was 80 yards, but that was with a shorter barrel. Personally I like the CCM's over the other options because of the all metal construction. No plastic or composite materials compared to other brands that make their version of a sniper rifle. Granted they are pricy due to only being available second hand, but given the opportunity, thats what I would pick over the competition.

Would you chose to change the barrel to the EMF? One in particular?

I do think CCM's are the best, sadly no more production in sight

Weren't the CCM guns super heavy and bulky? All of them were milsimp or whatever it's called... my favorite would be the lightest, most compact of the bunch - which I think was the EMF100 last I checked.

Pretty sure I saw a ccm for sale here yesterday, may want to go look, I don't remember if it's in the mechanical section or the rare section

I've shot all of those, so here are my 4ct

The SSR is the best ... period (that's the one I have and wouldn't want anything else)
I would stay away from the MCS, I've shot it and its a true disappointment ... a TIPX shoot FSR better.
The Carmatech is a hair behind the CCM for me because you have to use HPA so it ends up being heavier/bulkier than the CCM.
The MG100 is surprising, its light (ish) and somewhat customizable. If you cannot get a hold of an SSR (or are against bolt action) I would recommend the MG100 ...

Just know that the MG100 doesn't keep up the long distance against the SSR or the Carmatech

PS: i have not used a Carmatech since they came out with the autococker kit, only used them in bolt action configuration.
PS2: The SR1 uses actual pre-loaded shells, so its a step above bolt action in term of commitment (Id love to have the funds to add one to the collection).
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

Ok, so with no shell you load the round directly on the entry of the barre?
Didn't realized you could go back and forth on the same gun 👍

Yes, there are multiple breaches available. Or were. I have a cocker threaded with no shell, and a cocker threaded with shell. Either one can work with loading the round directly in. The shell can be locked in place as a sizer. Personally I always played with the cocker threaded breach. It is simple and works great in game. There were some breeches made that a hammerhead barrel screwed directly into with no fin but with the shell to use. I have never tried one of these.

I have no issues with my X7 Classic "Tornado" Tacamo kits. I have the Techt Zero Kick hammers, and the lightened valve spring. I think it's just fine.

For me my favorite FS delivery method, is a custom bolt action Phantom I hand load them into. I don’t use sights I just point shoot them at longer ranges one at a time. I don’t think I ever want to go back to having the ability to shoot them semi tho. I shot $200 in FS one event with my Dam then sold it. It was fun tons of long shot eliminations but it felt cheap. I feel better hand loading them one at a time. It also keeps me in check shooting them as they are expensive especially when you shoot two cases of them in a day. lol

If I wanted the best long range setup I would definitely go with the CCM. Or the MG100 for mid range, and ripping streams of angry plastic pellets if you got money to burn. To me I feel like the MG100 is like playing paintball in cheat mode. The CCM gives you that sniper feel and slows the process down. Definitely more my style. Hellion360’s is setup really nice to very usable. If I shot FS more often I would definitely go that route. For now my Janky bolt action phantom fills the void and it puts a smile on my face every time I use it. Otherwise the CCM would me mine already.

So I have shot almost everything out there and my FS Scout bolt action w Rifled barrel keeps it in a torso to 87 yards and a head to nearly 70 yards. At 50 yards my MG100 is FSR round on round. After that it opens up and this is the best I found I can get by using the .683 Lapco. The best? It will be closed bolt for sure, maybe something by Bill Holstein of CCM, he is a genius.

Definitely stay away from MCS, it’s essentially a stacked tube blowback with consistency to match, far from ideal for expensive rounds like FSR. I went to a Mag Fed game years back, this guy had flown in from across the states and bought a $1000 MCS “Sniper” as well as some Mag Fed cheapo as back up. Neither one worked and he was furious, ruined his whole game.

A T8.1 will shoot better than aTiPX until they are broken in and a TCR is an option, I shoot FSR through mine but you will need a remote and tank or you will get horrible consistency until it’s broken in.

Generally I agree with this sentiment, but if you can find one, MCS made a pump 98-style gun called the Bolt that shoots FSR beautifully for dirt cheap. I picked one up on a whim a few years back and for magfed FSR it shoots amazing.

This is the way to go.

I use a single shot phantom with a 20" rifled hammer head barrel. It is deadly. I love single shot with the FSR as it keeps me from wasting too much paint.
