    Multi-Barrel Markers!

With the recent re-interest in the Vee-Twin, I've been thinking about some of the other multi-barrel markers this sport has seen over the years, so just for the giggles of it, lets see if we can put together a list of all of 'em!

Photos are mandatory- yours or stolen at random from the internet. Descriptions and details a bonus.

To start with, there is, of course, the aforemementioned Vee-Twin, my first one shown here mocked up with a Racegun frame:

I made my first one on '04, but had a couple people insist, back then, that mine wasn't the first. ('Cocker, that is, of course the Nasty Typhoons predated it by several years.) I have never seen any other evidence of a single-body, double-barrel 'Cocker from before that, though....

Before that, however, back in... around '97, I think, I came up with what a buddy of mine called the DOC9000:

That was a play on the "Cyber 9000", which was in the PB news at the time as being the "next generation" 'shoebox' Shocker. (Before SP bankrupted PVI and stole their IP.)

At it's core, it's just an adapter that holds a 'Mag on top of a 68 Carbine, and spaced so that when the top op rod of the Carbine comes back- all the way back, and hits the bumper- it trips the sear of the 'Mag. It was easily one of the most fun markers I ever built, there's a few millisecond delay between the shots, so the paint is spaced out more- it's not two balls side-by-side.

A fellow that went by the name Bror Jace even took it to a Castle Conquest event, probably about '99.

A year or so after that, a customer hit me up for one built off a Model 98. This one, of course, was then the DOC9098:

I made a couple of those for customers, and this one actually made it into... I think Paint Magazine.

And finally, several years ago, I was given this:

That, ladies and gentlemen, believe it or not, was actually a manufactured product.

The story is- and I'd never heard of such a thing before I got that monster- that there was a small shop that would take F1 Illustrators, and literally glue a second bolt-and-barrel tube to the side of the gun, making kind of an oddball double barrel. The whole thing was then typically nickel-plated. And, according to rumor, at least one triple was attempted, with a tube on either side of the original.

What happened to this one? Same thing that happened to most of them, I'm told: The glue eventually failed. The owner of this one glued it back together- a couple of times- and had repainted it a couple of times to knock down the nickel-plated shine.

I have never aired it up myself, but when the fellow gave it to me, he insisted it still worked.

What other doubles are there, out there? Wasn't somebody making a kit to hold two Phantoms together like a Deuce? Who made those? (And can I still buy one? )

Who's got that famous double Automag that was on the cover of APG about a million years ago?

And I think we can do two or three pages of all the double-barrel Palmer's guns... PGPs, Paladins, Typhoons, Strokers, Hurricanes...

Counting only the ones that I still have in my stable and not ones that I built for friends or any that I've sold off through the years. I have these...

A triple barrel pgp I built in a drunken fury after Glen Palmer said it couldn't be done
My crank fired original double 98 from 1999, I still have it but it's retired.

The shank, which is technically double barrel although it is a double barrel shell fired from a single valve.

Epyon, yes named after the Gundam. Which was my take on Doc's over unders. I did not like automags ever that much so I decided to use two 98's, the idea is the same however they do not operate similarly as I'm using gas blowback and a delaying circuit which is adjustable to fire the top marker. This is the second generation one the first one was taken apart and some components were recycled back into this one however my earlier one was much rougher this is more clean.

And finally my double double, well in that my friend asked if I could build him a double barrel stock class brass sniper pump.... I said of course but only if he bought enough parts to build two. This one is Romulus his is Remus. They were built exactly the same but differ only by barrel of choice and frame choice. They are mostly built out of modified trilogy sport internals with everything else being custom including the bolt back block and linkages.

Yeah, that handle I used on mcb. I used it briefly here but changed it because I was rebranding from custom work to production parts and wanted to match my handle with the Instagram and Facebook......them I burnt out and here we are. Will I change again who knows.... I have nicknames like Taylor Swift has eras.

They ALL count. This is for ANY marker that has more than one barrel. Yous, his, mine, theirs, found at random on the internet, who cares? Post it!

There was a cover of APG back in the early years, with a guy holding what looked like a triple-barrel PMI-1. Rumor has it that was just a mock-up for the cover shoot, but if anyone has a copy of the cover, post it!

Anyone got a good pic of a Deuce or one of those double Wintecs? Post it!

Wasn't there a Chinese copy of, like, a VM-68 lying on it's side? Post that!

You duct-taped two Ions together? Post it!

Who's got a good, clear photo of that one guy with the eight-Ion Gatling thing?

        It's all fair game!

... I have to admit I have never seen that seven-tube PGP before... but now I want to build one.

A million years ago, back when "owner's group" boards were still a thing, somebody had a double-VM-68, with a Gatling style pistol grip, and run on a small electric motor. Anyone got a pic of that? I think he called it the Brute.

I've had this double barrel Perentie Viper since the early nineties. It's the only one ever built and one of the few custom guns made by Bruce Roberts.

For those who aren't familiar with these Australian markers they operate in a similar manner to the AutoMag.

A couple years ago, I also converted two MiniMag bodies to left and right Warp feed, for a fellow (possibly an MCB'er) to make another double-'Mag.

I did have a photo of it finished, somewhere, but not sure what I did with that.

There is also, of course, the classic Palmer's Pursuit Shop "Nasty" Typhoon- this photo of which is probably pushing 30 years old:

              And the Goblin:

The Umarex T4E HDS 68 "sawed off" shotgun...

The Chinese-made S4, which is basically a VM-68 on it's side, with two barrels....

              Somebody's dual-Phantom...

              What else?

              Doc.

I remember many many years ago, in a 1 on 1 game, being taken out by one of BretG's double barrel markers, at the same time i took him out with a .50 caliber Crosman 3357, right in the mask lense. I don't think I'll ever forget that game...
