You really don't see this talked about anymore, but I was reminded of this when coming across old posts on other forums talking about how efficient certain regulators are, then throw out these silly anecdotal claims of one reg getting +/- 5 but oh, this nicer more expensive one can get +/- 2!!!!

Marker specific parts mean you have nothing to compare
Really there's no reason why the industry can't have standardized gas through grip ASAs or on grip regulators to be universal but that would mean companies would have to talk and agree so, what are you going to do?

I agree with the sentiment, just disagree that Eclipse isn't the culprit.

Paint quality > pressure regulation.
I only worry about pressure regulation if the marker absolutely needs it. To me, extra regulators are just another thing to go wrong, and I don’t buy into the LP hype. If I actually need one I tend to go with what is easily rebuildable and/or or is known to be bulletproof.

Paint quality aside, regs are important. Let's say you get a few dirty fills and your tank reg is bouncing all over the place, a palmers stab will handle it better than most. iirc Glen said for every 70psi drop in the tank pressure you have a 1fps change in velocity - 70:1 - I wonder what some of these modern in-grip regs are at.
