Ninja flex reg.. externally qdjustable tank regs the next big thing?

I have a buddy who always cares about pbx, and is usually on top of the next new thing. He sent me this screen cap from an apparent pbx video hes watching.

So ninja finally has a fully adjustable tank reg coming out and its the first thing Ive seen worth being excited about in a few years. No more 5 tanks with different reg settings for all your shooters. Simply dial the output pressure up or down depending on the shooter you are using.

    Thoughts?

I really like this idea. It would be handy to not have a reg on every single gun I onw, and just be able to use an easily adjustable tank.

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought I remember having a adjustable screw in tank, maybe nitroduck back in the early 2000s, but there was a tool I would use to spin basically a nut. I remember it being super hard to rotate though. Did I dream that up?

No, I think tank regs like nitro ducks, flatlines, and max flos were adjustable. But we went away from that for a long time qgo when tanks starting hqving standardized bonnets. . Seems Ninja is getting back to it

Just looked around a little, they have the reg for sale now for air guns, outputs way to high for paintball markers. So I'm assuming they are making a paintball version soon

Very cool. I may be interested in snagging one if they are out when I need to rehydro.

I'm definitely getting one so I can use it on my backup tank. This way I can turn it up for an RT, or turn it down for pretty much everything else. I've wanted to do this for a while, but all of the old adjustable bottle regs are just so bulky. This looks to be just an inch or so longer than a typical Ninja reg.
          I can haz feedback?
If I owe you feedback, just remind me, as I sometimes forget.

I get that it's adjustable & whatnot, but that price tag... Ouch.

Honestly normal regs are 100. Power house regs are 120 new. This isnt too far off.

Internally adjustable Ninja regs are 60 bucks on ANSgear. ProV2s are only $73 on Amazon. The only ones I'm seeing at the $100+ price point are special colors or all brass.

I get there's bells & whistles, but this seems to be a rather niche product. I guess I'm just not the target market. Can't justify the price of a reg when I got my whole Ninja 45/45K for that price.

This is great if you only have one tank. Good find!

So... If you were to turn it down, is there any air (at the former, higher pressure) that needs to be purged from the reg? If so, how would you purge/fully knock down that pressure without having to screw it into a marker? That would be an extra step I wouldn't want to deal with. Is there a bleed on it? If you have a LP marker, you bump the tank pressure down and screw it in only to find there's an initial burst of 850psi going to the marker... That wouldn't be good.

Interesting product, though. We'll see how they sell with that price point.

From what I can tell they just threaded the outside of the reg body and have you a collar that puts more or less pressure on the washer stack. So id guess they dont bleed off unless you shoot em off like you are thinking.

Can I use this for velocity adjustments on a phantom? Paired with a small CF tank, nice.

Old enough that it took me 15 years to track one down and I'm having issue making the valve seal 😅
Might have to make custom gasket ...

Now that I look at it again. Man they really added length to the reg to add the adjustability didn't they?

An inch willl throw some tanks off though. My 77 sl may be too long with an inch added honestly... okay well it probably wouldn't matter, but it just looks gangly when you look at length to width proportions.

Remember when all HPA tank regulators were adjustable? What's old is new again....

I guess those old systems weren't a screw in type so yeah this is kind of neat. I'm just curious who the actual buyers would be for this. How many people have one gun that will only work with high pressure tanks and another gun that only works with LP tank output and you're constantly switching one tank between them? Tanks aren't the most expensive part of collecting multiple paintball guns so my take on it is most that have multiple guns with differing needs probably have a couple tanks already.

                    This.

First 3 HPA systems I ever owned in the late 90s were all adjustable (an NPS Falcon 114, AA Apocalypse, and AA Armageddon). When I originally got out of paintball in 2002, the pre-set screw-in type bottle regs were a fairly new thing, and I remember at the time they were considered as a cheaper more entry-level alternative to the AA, Nitro Duck, and other high-end systems at the time (Angel Air anyone?). When I got back into it last year I was kind of surprised that the only option anymore are the pre-set screw-in type.

For me, I have two PowerHouse setups - one I left at the factory default ~500PSI that I use for my PE Gamma Core guns, and another that I adjusted up to ~700-750PSI that I use for for my Cockers. Having only one reg that is externally adjustable would be convenient, but at this point I've already spent the money, so
                Working...
