8% is a big number, I'm surprised they're throwing that out there because you know people are going to contest it.

I might actually buy this, now!Feedback

I have to stop thinking up projects, and start finishing them instead.Feedback

Certainly looks cheaper - drill instead of mill!
I have a spare on its way and will be... adjusting it for science.
-
Probably both. Less milling and more robust.
-
I modded a spare can and saw a negligible difference in velocity, trimming a group of three holes into one big triangle. Color me suspicious that the improved flow is better than placebo.

My local field has already started making anyone with a mech Gamma Core hold the trigger for a second to show it doesn't have one of these rapid fire mods installed as part of the chrono procedure. I presume we'll see more of that as these things proliferate.

I played at a field New Year's day and the refs grabbed my Emeks off the table and took them out to chrono and test them for rapid firing. The owner mentioned a rapid fire valve and we talked about how we both didn't really like the single shot issues. They were aware and looking for it.
Though I used mine for a game at my home field a few weeks ago and no one said anything. It's easy to switch it out, so if refs aren't watching, you could get hit with one. I used it when we had a bunch of guys ramping and running down the field with electros against a bunch of rentals and mechs. I did slow them down a little that way but that's a different issue. To be fair though, the field owner let my oldest son borrow a rental emek that had the oring cut to shoot full auto. He was shooting faster than I was when he held it down. Mine shoots about 12-13bps on full auto with the HK valve. I bet his was closer to 15.-------------

I bought one. I don't notice a lot of difference in sound. I also used the nano barrel and it was almost as loud as it was. It might be a little softer shot and I'll see if there's an improvement with efficiency. I'm not instantly impressed with it. When I go to the field I'll do a better test and a buddy has a similar Emek without the whisper I can directly compare to.-------------

Well, I got my valve and installed it. With a fully stock Emek, there is no way to reliably fire off a single shot every time I pull the trigger. That's both when dry firing and actually shooting paintballs. Worse still, when I tried to shoot a string of single shots I'd often ged mad drop-off (below 200 fps). I know, I had a chrono. However, when I did fire full on the streams were steady with no discernable drop-off. I was using old paint on a cold day and had no issues whatsoever.
When I tried the valved coupled with an aftermarket Exalt trigger, forget it. The thing became possessed and wouldn't stop firing. I had made sure that there was plenty of play so that the valve rod had ample space to reset properly, but still.
Yet, for now, I've decided to keep the valve along with the stock trigger. At least with the stock trigger it is actually easier to fire off a single shot or two for chrono purposes. The beauty of it is that within 30 seconds I can easily swap valves if I want to. That for me is the clincher. This Emek will make for an awesome loaner or for overall s*** & giggles purposes. OTOH, I can easily revert to the stock valve and slap on a PAL loader, going for a totally different effect (slow ROF - I find that the PAL works fine with a fully stock Emek, but can't keep up even with only an upgraded trigger).
By the way, it so happens the field I was at offers the cut o-ring mod to Emek owners.Playing the game since 1990

I also bought the cheaper Core Ignition Valve and it does the same thing. These valves are only good if you want to do full auto. Though, I didn't have the drop off issues you are seeing. I gave my RapidFire valve to a buddy with an EMF and he didn't like it either. I have my Emek back to Hair45 and fang trigger configuration. It rips that way and is predictable.
It's funny the field offers that option. Most fields don't want people with rental guns shooting that fast. Though I borrowed an Emek for my son from our local field one week when he was in town and they gave us one with the oring cut shooting full auto. But they don't normally let people use it.
