My recent experience trying to contact anyone at Smart Parts to address a recalled Shocker part also reaffirms this belief, as they would not email me back despite repeated effort on my part. So I'm happy to continue my general "Screw Smart Parts" attitude.

However, whoever came up with it, the electro absolutely was a revolutionary change in the sport. For good and bad.

The reason innovation in PB has plateaued is that the market is no longer growing, and there's been major corporate consolidation which removed most competitive pressure.

If competition had continued, we'd probably have cameras built into the guns, no batteries (charge via bolt movement), and battery-free hoppers (powered by feedneck contacts) by now.

Don't get lost in the weeds there, they're loose examples. If not those, then something equally significant. But we don't, because the RnD risk/reward doesn't math in this market.
