The about us part is so bitter and unprofessional. It reads like my uncles facebook with the random bold and CAPITAL PARTS. Also so much charged emotional language. After 20 years they are still sad people dont like them for being ruthless businessmen who set so many paintball companies back.
And friendly reminder from Smart Parts that Smart Parts are still jerks. My recent experience trying to contact anyone at Smart Parts to address a recalled Shocker part also reaffirms this belief, as they would not email me back despite repeated effort on my part. So I'm happy to continue my general "Screw Smart Parts" attitude.
DLX makes a great decision to partner with Method to help develop their next marker. They knock it out of the park, objectively. They have a super positive reception and price it competitively.
And then you go and do this to eliminate a great deal of that positivity.
Though, I understand and agree with this part: "I remember at one of the major events listening to Tom Kaye and Bud Orr declare that paintball markers had “evolved” as far as they could and that there would never be advancements beyond the Automag and Autococker. "
Agreed. There's seems to be a post about once a month on reddit asking how guns can possibly get any better or implying we are at the absolute peak of technology.
However, whoever came up with it, the electro absolutely was a revolutionary change in the sport. For good and bad.
The reason innovation in PB has plateaued is that the market is no longer growing, and there's been major corporate consolidation which removed most competitive pressure.
If competition had continued, we'd probably have cameras built into the guns, no batteries (charge via bolt movement), and battery-free hoppers (powered by feedneck contacts) by now.
Don't get lost in the weeds there, they're loose examples. If not those, then something equally significant. But we don't, because the RnD risk/reward doesn't math in this market.

Why?
Yes the timing of it is extraordinary. For the first time they I actually considered buying their product.
I feel really bad for method, who may end up taking the hit from this. They make great products.
