Got my second dose of the Moderna two weeks ago, wife got hers on Tuesday. She was itchy, I felt like I had a fever and then it went away like the flip of a switch. -
I was texting a friend that I was getting the Pfizer vaccine on Monday.
Autocorrect tried to make "Pfizer" into "Viagra. That was a hard moment.Leave a comment:

martix_agent The potential for increased insurance premiums for the rest of time would be my concern. They don't like nicotine users. -
I am scheduled for tomorrow morning to get my first shot. My family has all gotten it and no real issues other than soreness and a little fever for a day.Leave a comment:

So far, everyone in my family has been vaccinated except for my son. He'll be eligible for it in July. None of us have had any real side effects except for my wife who had some minor flu-like symptoms and my daughter who was a bit loopy for a day and ran a low grade fever. Aside from that, the only thing I've experienced is a powerful urging to buy a new Xbox (F5, F5, F5... damn).Leave a comment:

I got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine last month. Luckily, all I got from it was a stiff arm for a few days and ALL GLORY TO BILL GATES! a couple night of uncomfortable sleep as I rolled onto it. Who smells toast?Leave a comment:

The easiest way to think about it, I think, is with probabilities. If a vaccine is 95% effective at preventing infection, it means that for any given situation, you are 1/20th as likely to be infected if you are vaccinated compared to if you are not. In other words, a 95% effective vaccine reduces you risk of infection by 95%.Leave a comment:

COVID-19 vaccines: What does 95% efficacy actually mean? It doesn't mean 5% of vaccinated people get infected.

I have to admit that it doesn't mean what I thought it meant. (In my defense, my last biology course was over 40 years ago. :-)

Can I slip someone a $50 to get stuck early? Or even better, a $100 to stick an anti-vaxxer?
