    Dad's Old B2K Revival!!

The Zombie Lachesis Sticky thread is such an awesome walkthrough for how to really rebuild and squeeze the most out of an old Bushmaster on the cheap. Years ago my dad gave me his old Bushmaster 2000, this thing is older than my kids! Some backstory, my dad and I played paintball back when I was 14, about 26 years ago, and recently we started venturing out to the paintball field to play once and awhile. We have newer markers but there would be something so cool about using one of our older markers again! So it begins- using the Zombie Sticky, I plan to do a full rebuild and I will post up progress along the way.

I don't have any reg testers, no spare parts at the moment, but this B2k looks in really good conditionn.

I'm planning a budget of around $150, for a new regulator and ASA and O-rings and that's it! Wish me luck gang and I hope I can lean on you guys for some support!!

Fish mill. One of my favorites mill patterns. Looking forward to the build!

I've been ripping my myrkul modded b2k for the year, and its a blast.

I have a blue air america reg that might compliment this build if you are interested. It may need a rebuild.

I'm sure Ill miss something but.. the work done bu myrkul himself included .. Drilled out VASA and banjo bolt, Polished ram, "X" o rings on ram , shimmed and magnetic trigger . And tuning.

Then he sent my bolt to bmc so it's ramped and had 3 o rings added to it.

He sent my body to superman and had a second detent added and the feedneck modded to take an ego feedneck.

But the trigger, and ram work are where myrkul shines. He makes b2ks Into monsters.

I would argue that the 3/32 dowel pin does more for the triggers then just shimming them does. The magnets, while cool, are unnecessary. They do seem to feel the best on the 2k3/4 frames. I actually prefer springs on the OG frames like this one has. Definitely recommend using a 3/32 dowel pin in all cases though.

I could tackle the ramp and the orings if someone needed it in the future too.

Just got back from the hardware store with a hex wrench big enough to take off the MacDev vertical ASA dad had on here (5/16ths)- o rings lookin pretty flat and old- with the vertical ASA screw out I was able to poo the valve out- and it looks like it's in great condition- might polish this up as per the Myrkul write up!

Do any of you gentlemen know where I can find a list of the Orings used for the B2k? I've seen O ring kits on Amazon but their picture showed metric sizes and I thought the 011-016 o rings were standard?

Off the top of my head:

            Valve: #016 x2
            Ram housing: #015 x3
            Ram housing interior: #010 x1
            Ram Shaft #011
            Rear ram Bumper #011
            Manifold #015
            Manifold #006 x2
            LPR housing #016
            LPR housing #019

            If using a modded bolt #014 x3
            If using a vapor bolt #015 x3

I'm pretty sure the MacDev Vert uses a #012 too.

All standard sizes, you can get them from ACE hardware in the plumbing aisle if you convert the #000 size to the fractional sizes.

Oh man, MacDev LPR! Those actually work really well, bet it still works good too! The proprietary seal on those last for ever, and MacDev should still have some if you give them a call! Great LPRs. Does this have a gladiator HPR too? I noticed there is a MacDev sticker on it, the LPR + the Vert ASA lead me to suspect it had a gladiator on it too back in the day. You shouldn't need to drill out the Vert ASA banjo, the MacDev Vert adapter banjos came with a 1/4" hole stock.

Oh hell yes!!! My very first B2K originally had a gladiator, they are actually great regs, the only issue is the seats get scratched in them.

Docfire has an upgrade where the reg seat is replaced with a standard buna "o" ring, also included in the kit is every single other seal they need, including the weird #012 "backer" (square) "o" ring. I've rebuilt two of them using his kit and they work fantastic, I'm planning to rebuild a third one. Hell of a lot cheaper then a new reg too.

That's in incredible shape. I have zero doubts about that sealing up perfectly. Probably just lightly hit it with Flitz and call it good.

There are a LOT of very good parts on this one man, all those MacDev parts REALLY bump up the performance on B2Ks. Your dad got you the good shit.

No problem, I double checked my guide, I had one of the LPR "o" rings wrong, I've corrected it now though. Still pretty good just from memory 😎

Honestly I think you can get this one in WAY under budget. Those are some of the best regs ever made for B2Ks and both can be completely rebuilt to rip. I would absolutely use both of those MacDev regs.

I would spend money on an SLPS autococker spring kit to steal the valve spring out of, a Ramped bolt, and milling the stock feedneck into a stub to throw a clamping one on. Those should all get you the best bang for your buck.

There is only a very small handful of B2Ks where you don't need to stress about the regs, and this is definitely one of them.
