Maybe, the problem then would be as the batteries drop down in voltage you are now under feeding since it will slow down a bit

It’s regulated so adjusting the brass screw adjusts how fast and hard it is on paint. Lower you go the more likely you are to get a jam. So it’s a trade off. They are very efficient battery wise. So people forgot the last time they replaced the battery, and the lack of low battery indication only adds to the confusion. Why is my rotor jamming? Because it requires less energy to spin that cup empty then it does with a full pod sitting on top of it. So empty it looks fine, add the weight of a full pod it don’t have the proper power to push paint. Replace the battery’s and you’re good to go. Put lithium ion AA batteries and change them out one time a year. They last forever in the rotor. It’s all I ran when I was practicing 3x a week for Xball.

I know plenty of players who swore buy the latest hopper. I stuck with my First Gen rotor up until I had trouble finding replacement windows for it about 3 years ago. They have all gone through 5-6 different generations of the “best hopper”.

I did find replacements eventually and now it’s a back up hopper because it still works great I think I’m on speedfeed #2 with that one. Replaced it with an LTR and all the parts are interchangeable so I’m sure this will be the last hopper I purchase.

Like what the hell were they shooting? Might as well be a paint light saber at that point

Let's say you can get it to 60 BPS. That's a pod every 2.5 seconds. Can you even dump the paint in that fast?

naw man I can shoot 40bps on semi without bounce on my Spyder, only newbs can't hit at least 30...

but yeah seriously, the crazy feed rates are ridiculous. granted I think there is a solid point to have a hopper that can really outpace the marker but I see no need to go beyond what the rotor family can do. if they can keep up with the craziest for RT'ing mags theres nothing they won't help up with... granted even the halos can do it to and frankly they seem to be softer on paint, just the form factor never got refined well. I am interested to see the new halo style hoppers that it seems the pro teams are testing with the removable top shell. hopefully they have kept all of the good about the halo while making it more battery efficient and competitive in the height department to modern hoppers.

New halos? I haven't heard of these yet, pictures? Links? Or is there a thread started already that I missed?

It cost more in batteries to keep those things running a season then it dose to buy a better hopper.

I havent seen any threads about it here (but I also dont lurk here constantly. there were some on reddit like this one https://www.reddit.com/r/paintball/c...w_halo_hopper/

however I keep seeing videos of some of the big teams using them, the latest videos I saw looked like they shells were revised from what was in this linked thread. the latest ones seemed to be that the upper shell had more of a lim that hun over the lower shell (and of course the screen captures in that thread make the hopper look like a skyscraper from the parallaxing.

Yeah no joke that thing looks massive in those photos.

It does say halo too on the back so I'm not expecting massive changes. Even still the too has been a go to for entry level e hopper for years. I hope they aren't going to price it out of that market just because it's new.
