I only have a handful:
1. Like cougar20th, a KAPP flame autococker with a black body and yellow-orange-red flames. Blue flames are cool, but the hot rod flames are choice.
2. Air Power Vector
3. Freeflow Lotus
4. KAPP "water" autococker (aka. the one that got away)Slinging paint since 1992☕ 1Comment

This thread really got me thinking. For me, I've decided it was the DAM.
It wasn't that the DAM itself was my grail, but the IDEA of the Dam. It was released 14 years ago now, so it counts as an old gun
If there's any genre of paintball that needs great antichop, it's magfed. Eyes are the ultimate antichop.
If there's any genre of paintball where modes like triple burst actually make sense, it's magfed. Mechs can't do that.
I loved the fact it wasn't a milsim replica too. I would be all over a magfed speedball scene.
Alas...
1. The engine is a proto rail, and the eyes are at the bottom of the breech. So they're registering as "on" when a ball is only halfway up from the mag. This was a significant design error that caused huge chopping issues, especially with the box rotor. It either needed a quad eye setup like some of the old Bob Longs, or a better eye placement. Software updates patched it by increasing activation delays, but really it needed a hardware fix.
2. Being a speedball gun, it had a speedball board with a speedball blinky light. Good luck playing night games.
3. Also, being a speedball gun, the board would shut itself off after a (non-adjustable) downtime. Playing long woods scenarios or overnight milsim games? Sorry bruh.
4. Likewise changing milsim modes was a pain. A proper fire selector would be the way to go, but again they cheaped out.
5. I'll always use a bottomline because I play paintball, not milsim, but making a gun like this and then *not* allowing a backline without aftermarket mods was a mistake.
6. The mags were crap. 10+10 stacks are terrible. This has now been fixed thanks to PE.
7. Dave is (allegedly) a sx predator. So that kinda took the shine of it for me.
8. Minor things - it's a bit bulky and overdesigned, you can't change the shell aesthetic, and the on-the-fly FS switch was a gimmick that I don't think is good for the sport. Kinda cheating. Make up your mind and just choose one - I say go magfed-only.
A DAM 2 which addressed all the major issues there, I would love. But I wouldn't buy anything from Dye these days, so it's up to Jack and co at PE. Alas again, Jack seems to have lost his love of the game. I hope he's ok.Comment

On the fly selectable semi/auto with a mech emf100 would be kinda cool. -
The Hobbit I get it, but I want triple burst, and eyes. Hard to do that with a mech.

I had a team USA CCM T2 that was 1/1. I sold it when I quit about a decade ago for far too low of a price.
I’d really like to have it back.😎 1☕ 1Comment

Meh, based on outdated vibes. It's all good. I hadn't realised how long it's been.
I just want an electro emf100 now.Comment

A little over 10 years ago I really wanted a ccm pump and only had 700 bucks at the time, I was bidding on a gloss gold insert body T2 and got outbid at my max at the end and was very disappointed. Later that day though, a right feed T2 in dust black came up for 475 buy it now and jumped on it. I shot the piss outta that thing, but me being young and dumb at the time, I really wanted a full block cocker pump and ended up trading the T2 for a cotton candy sto with ccm pump bits and 300 cash on top. Thats the one gun I really regret selling. eventually tracked it down to the guy I made the trade too, but he had reanoed the gun a dust red and swapped the thick 45 for an 86 frame, he offered it back to me, but wanted 1500 at the time about 3 or 4 years ago and that was just too much for me then and I didnt like that it was changed that much
Fast forward to this week and I ended up getting the winning bid on a right feed T2 off ebay for a price I'm happy with. Really excited to get that in and back on the field soon.
As far as grail guns that are unobtanium, theres a splash rt classic space mag floating around europe some where, assuming it didnt get scrapped. Also Bacci has a custom brass nestle black/yellow phantom that sold here about 7 or 8 years ago and just missed it at the time lol.👍 1Comment

I used to have the concept of grail guns in my mind. In the 2000s I got an AKA Viking in dust black. That was my grail gun at the time. Man, I loved that gun. Sadly, I would also get panicky every time I used it because I didn't want any scratches on it. That gets old after awhile. Eventually I sold it. I learned enough about myself from that experience to avoid any marker thats an art object. Now I concentrate on getting junkers and making them perform well. That is good enough for my needs.
If anything still sticks in my mind as a grail gun, its a PPS Hurricane CA and RF. Its not ergonomic in any way with a mask on, but I always wanted one.Comment

It’ll always be a black and yellow Karnivore. That was the first high-end gun I laid my eyes on in the early 2,000’s.
I’ll get my hands on one someday.
