Yea the grip frame will be printed

Found a switch in a parts bin in the garage that I'm gonna try to add in as the power switch.


And modeled the frame to fit the switch. Now I just need to get the right size brass tubing to run the wiring concealed.

Made the first material purchase today: some 3/16" brass tubing for external wire conduit.

And also printing several small test sections to make sure I've got the fit right for various pieces.

And everything fits! I know this was probably an unnecessary step, but it gives me peace of mind that when I do the full print, everything should fit nicely.

A couple tweaks, and then ready to print the final grip frame.

I'd recommend an open bolt conversion of some kind.

I have no idea how I would do that, but definitely open to the idea! I'll have to do some research

- Local Autococker Guru ( LAG): “hey, your 3-way hoses are backwards...”

- LAG: “but, your back block and bolt are in an open position! Your gun can’t shoot like th.........”

Last test print section. I wanted to make sure the nuts fit right for the bottom line ASA. The full print of the grip frame is on the printer tonight! Pictures in about 10 hours.

And here it is! Other than some goobers and zits, it printed pretty well. Parts are all fitting in nicely, and surprisingly the chunky grip actually feels pretty good in the hand.

Trigger printed and installed. Needs a little tweaking to shorten the trigger pull a bit.

That looks really good! I feel like I screwing myself by not getting into the 3d printing. How long would a frame like that last? They sturdy enough to dive with and do all that?

That frame looks REALLY good with that brass tubing installed. Can't wait to see how you do the guts.

And I've officially decided on a name: Der Cockermaker

I've got some leaks I need to seal up. And the cocking rod still needs to be affixed to the back block for that sweet open-bolt action. I'm thinking tap the back block with a set screw?

That turned out better than I'd hoped for - awesome!

I would thread the cocking rod a bit more and then put a nut on either side of the backblock to lock it... or make a collar that runs the length of the cocking rod and let's you pinch the backblock between the hammer and cocking knib.
