Thank you, Sir. The primary reason I settled on this system was it's supposed rugged nature. I am getting my feet under me as I go. I learn through fucking up, and I have already gotten some learnin' in. I love the stainless steel. I love the way the guns feel in hand. First match should be Saturday, so Im looking forward to getting stuck in again.

In regards to your barrel question the factory rt barrels are great, also had good luck with CP barrels, but my best performer is my smart parts tear drop. Toss some bearded works detents in there or the old wire ones and you'll be good to go. I've found that even with small paint the old .689s just work on mags.

Hi Calvin, do you use an o-ring pick and if so, which type? I have a metal dental pick, but debating if I should get the polymer plastic ones on Amazon.

Hi Trbo323 - Thanks for your suggestion and Airgun Designs part website went up, so I'm following the recommendation to use a proper kit versus BUNA.

MCB Community - Any suggestions on the best way to clean up the powdercoat body? Mine seems slightly stained and uneven in color. Maybe it's oil and a hot warm bath might be the best remedy.

I have a dental pick that has a flat end, maybe 1.5mm wide. It slides well under orings. If the oring is going in the trash, I gently cut it half way through with a fresh xacto so it stretches easily and doesnt put up a fight. I will look into those polymer picks. Didn't know they exist.

Don't bother with plastic picks. Especially for the 90duro poly rings that AGD uses. The tip of the pick will bend in the first few uses. Metal picks are best, o have some cheaper ones that I bend the tips around into whatever shape I need for a situation and then one skinny dental pick that has been my go to as of late. I'm pretty sure my dental pick is some kind of hardened steel because it holds it's shape better than the much thicker o ring specific picks

I played yesterday for the first time in 17 years! I'm glad I did this, as I realize how much I missed the experience. The good folks at Cliff Edge Paintball had 2 large groups I was able to pick up with. The very nice shelter at the facility came in handy when thunderstorms blew through at the end of the day.

Although it wasn't all rainbows, I am pleased with the choice of the Automag platform. I like the way it feels and shoots. Yes, its a bit heavy, but anything with a tank and a full hopper of paint strapped to it is.
I will refer to my mags as 1, 2, and 3. 1 and 2 are twistlock setups. 3 will be a docs adapter setup, and I am waiting on some parts to finish it. 1 and 2 both had 12v x-board revvies. Paint was Valken Graffiti. I started with 1, my best setup. I had a 12 " Dye SS with a single TPU detent.
Game 1: I chopped a ball badly. We're talking pieces blowing out the powerfeed port. Based on subsequent games, I blame myself. Trigger control and weird tilt angles were my fault.
I grabbed 2 with the RT Stock barrel w/double tpu detents and ran back for Game 2. Gun ran great. Multiple eliminations. In game 4, I leaned right to take some shots and saw a kid in a bunker closer than I expected already shooting at me. I still have very fast reflexes from a lifetime of Ultimate frisbee, and pulled right back into cover. Sadly, my revvie sailed serenely out into the open, adhereing faithfully to Newton's law of motion.

After bolting the revvie back on really tight, the gun ran great the rest of the day. I did shoot my own cover twice as I popped out to shoot, and that blasted paint into the muzzle of the RT barrel. It shot a bit wonky the rest of those matches, but didnt break subsequent balls. Post game cleanup showed no paint behind the muzzle brake in either instance. Inspection this am shows no paint in the body of the gun whatsoever.

I am planning on setting 3 up with a classic right feed automag body with a sconi lean elbow and force hopper of some kind. If I can sight down the top of the tube, my snap shooting will be better. It should also decrease the total height of the feed system. Or it will suck...who knows until it's tried?

Why not go after a center feed body? The large majority of those are cocker threaded so you also wouldn't need an adaptor

That might be a step in the future. Optimally, I can get a look down the top of the gun body and barrel. If I am unable to gain that view down the gun in a robust and reliably feeding setup, then I will start to move towards the most reliable feed setup. Thats the most important thing. The low rise center feed will probably be that optimum reliability.

I have two center feeds and 5 side feeds....to be honest I am kind of partial to side feeds myself mainly for seeing down the center of the gun. One thing to note I've had a lot less issues chopping when I switched from a revy to a dye ltr even on my level 7 and ans bolt mags, not sure if that is a mental thing or a federate. superman had recommended them when I picked up an emag valve off him and now I just use it for everything and it seems to give me much better results then my old revy.

Thank you for that info! I can see that I'm not alone in my desire for that view down the top of the gun.The 2 revvies are my remaining hoppers from the old days. I also have an original Halo, but its in clear plastic that has spiderweb cracked extensively due to age. I will add the dye ltr to the list of models I am looking at for a replacement.

Thanks for the advice on a force feed LTR over the classic Viewloader Revys. I used a CTRL and had no issues for a half day of gameplay, so force feed loaders it is.

Calvin, what pressure output did you have on your HPA tanks? I’m curious is the modern air systems (450-550psi output) would be okay for Mags.

Late to the party, but AGD recommends at least 650psi input pressure for mags to behave properly. Mags use a relatively high operating pressure downstream of the integrated regulator (400-450 range) and you actually want some difference between your input and output pressures. A standard output 850 psi HPA tank will work just fine.

Hooptie I have both newer regs at 500 ish and higher pressure units at 800 ish If you are running an RT valve / X Valve / emag valve they really like the higher pressure if you are trying for the rapid rt effect. For my regular classics they don't seem to really change much with the lower pressure tanks. granted the classic valves are stock on/off with level 7 or ans bolts. Two have ans rear half's which honestly don't seem to do much but they came on the guns when I bought them.

I think my current two tanks are 800psi output and 850psi output.

I got my hands on a couple classic right hand feed bodies last week. Got some time today to get the cuts done on them to fit the Sconi lean elbows I have procured. Since all I had was my 10" chop saw, I 3d printed up a cutting jig so I would get a square cut. After all the finishing work and cleanup, I just got the first setup together. It really gives me the sight line I was looking for. I also love the way it centers the mass of the loader over the centerline of the gun, and lowers the loader compared to the power feed. I need to buy a couple Dye ltr loaders, and the properly sized braided hoses to replace this macroline. After that, I think I will have 3 excellent paintball guns. I am also rebuilding my 4th valve into a level10 setup, so I can try that out. Excited as hell to get back out there on the field with these!
