        A "subtle" 98.

Sight rail, 98, and finger grooves have been filed off. Fresh powder coat. Polished internal clam shells. Safety holes have been filled in with JB weld. Both trigger springs have been lightened. Gas line has been drilled out, Valve plug has been swapped with a smaller carbine style plug for more volume. Trimmed black warrior spyder valve spring, weakest mad man striker spring. Dead On RVA. LAPCO cocking handle. Front bolt has a rear "o" ring upgrade, and a ramp added. Feed neck has been ported for blowback and has the wobble "o" ring fix. APP Front Grip. Not sure if this counts as a sleeper or not.

Wow that'a really nice build! I love the APP front grip, may have to try and find one myself.

Thanks man! APP still has them listed on their site, and this one came from Tippmann parts so they have them in stock as well. I always hated the stock finger grooves.

Curious, what is the carbine valve plug you mention here? Is it literally putting the brass piece from a pro carbine that seals off the front portion of the valve? What benefits does that provide?

The green is beautiful. Did you have it anodized or powder coat? And what's going on with the bolt... it's black?

uglyduckling sorry I just saw this. The body is an ex rental from a field in Oklahoma. The owner was selling them on FB for $10 each and buy two get one free. It's anno'd and it was done after factory (the lasered warning label is visible underneath). The anno was actually in really nice shape considering, but unfortunately I spritzed it with vinegar right after I got it and it left some tiny specs of discoloration. The internals are all swapped out from someone's personal Prolite that I got in that buy two get one free deal (the ex rental internals were much worse). It must have been from a different generation because the hammer is black (blued?) and has more squared cuts compared to the rental hammers.

I like what you did with the stock there!

Some action shots with my favorite carbine at a couple different scenario games (fulda, a PBC game). I was recently able to acquire a brass (didn't know these existed) vertical ASA for it as well as a palmers barrel. Neck and neck with my thundercat for favorite shooter at the moment.

I played in the late '90s/early '00s with a Spyder and fawned after the 98C and A-5, but could hardly afford paint and CO2, let alone one of those two markers. I also wanted, but couldn't afford a Viewloader agitator. Now...

Click image for larger version Name:	20231209_1536044.jpg Views:	0 Size:	155.3 KB ID:	489496

The 98C has a Response Trigger which is what the Halo Too is for and the middle A-5 has an early e-grip with screwdriver adjustments. There are higher-performance markers available for sure, but these have vintage appeal for me.
                      Late '80s PGP, late '90s Spyder, two A-5s, a 98 Custom, and a TiPX.
