One of my three valves was also massively cockeyed as well. They said they would send another out immediately so #fingerscrossed…

Ive noticed the resistance I feel on the valve stem is different on each of the three valves, the cockeyed one having the most drag of the three. I haven’t bothered to spec them to see if there’s any dimensional differences..

I couldn’t tell a sound difference between my test mule marker and my ccm S5 (built with identical parts except provided nova parts)

The resistance on mine felt kinda weird too until I squared it off. Once the top was actually flat the resistance felt MUCH better.

My big concern is that the hole for the valve stem is established when the hex is milled, meaning it’s likely off center/poor concentricity. Maybe I’ll bring my fubar’d vakve into work

      I was thinking the same.

Great news! I've found the right combination of parts and have some interesting results to share.

    First the parts used:
    • Nova Balanced Valve with supplied valve spring
    • Angry Paintball (Jason Antle) "Jenni Kraig" Delrin Hammer and supplied main spring
Results yielded a similar to CCM quality pump stoke. Shot signature is very quiet while shot feel is similar to that of a properly tuned sniper. On a 2k mini body the reg sweet spot is right at 350psi. Efficiency seemed pretty solid on my FS 15/4500 tank. I could shoot 80-100 balls and drop roughly 1k psi. This seems similar if not slightly better than the same sniper with CCM lowers.

Conclusion: it's a pretty nice valve when setup with the right parts. Time will tell on maintenance intervals. I'll be making a video with it soon and will report back if I have any more updates.

Grendel I think it fills the same niche as the Morph & Lazarus. It's not for most and doesn't offer significant advantages. Some have ran this valve in the low 200psi range but like the other LP setups, air efficiency will suffer. I didn't mention it in my post but the shot does seem a bit softer despite the operating pressure. This wasn't mentioned because I didn't test it next to another traditionally set-up 2k sniper.

Grendel keep in mind, chucklove did say it was on a mini-body, those typically run at higher pressures.

Of the two I've installed, one was installed in a Mini-Cocker (Shocktech SFL), and needed 300+ PSI to reach velocity (Nova valve spring, but a different main spring). The other was in a 04 ProStock bodied Sniper build, and was able to get to velocity sub-200 PSI (Nova valve spring, but a different main spring).

Did anyone else realize the cupseal isn’t threaded? It’s slip fit over the valve stem with an oring being used for retention.. probably why it needs a more firm valve spring

I did, when I was chasing down a leak. It's actually one of the design choices I'm not fond of. The o-ring is needed to seal since the cup seal isn't solid, but some threads would have been nice to better secure the cup seal on the stem.

After correcting the bad machining my valve is about .05” shorter than stock, which means much more valve lift/mechanical dwell. If it yields good results I’ll probably machine the rest of my valves shorter

With CCM bolt, CCM hammer, nova valve, and supplied springs. Zero FPS change between standard and shorter valve…. Consistency was better but that could just be because different barrel, different day… sound change, minimal at best… pump stroke, much softer/smoother.

I've noticed that the valve does have a tendency to fart if I hold the pump handle forward. I have Angry Antle delrin hammers and spring system, may throw that in and see how that performs. Hopefully find a way to get rid of the fart. Also want to change over to a bolt with orings. But I wanted a side by side comparison with CCM parts first.

Wait...so if I'm reading this correctly, you DID get better consistency out of the misaligned valve that you shortened, correct? That is both odd and really intriguing.

Modified Nova valve in a RaceGun HalfBlock. Marker belongs to shrompman420.

      I can haz feedback?
