That’s a great price point especially without the reg. If I didn’t buy a Meteor, I would hop on this.
It looks like they will have a single trigger option coming before Christmas according to their FB page.Leave a comment:

iamthelazerviking. Agreed my Sniper’s reg seal went and took out the valve. Single biggest failure I have had in a paintball marker. Had to get a new valve and a replacement HPR.Last edited by Cdn_Cuda; 08-23-2024, 10:15 PM. -
Ive got no dog in this race, but it reminds of an old cocker clone. Was it maybe the Dralliun or Dragunfly or something like that? It definitely reminds me of a clone though.
good on them for entering the market with a budget friendly cocker though. It’s nice seeing a marker with options for less than $1000, honestly. Especially with a nice ano for only $100 more.Leave a comment:

Will be way better quality than an Empire as well, those aren't great -
Cause you can't buy an Empire Sniper new anymore? Not fair to compare a used gun to something new.
Price seems decent overall, I just wish they had a third rod for anti-twist, can't be that much of a price increase and would help make it look a little less like such a cheap gun. Plus, unless they add the option later or the pump kit is REALLY cheap, can't see it being a popular option for other guns over a Slice kit.Leave a comment:

I guess my big question at this point is, Why should I buy this over an empire sniper?

I think people are looking a this a little backward, and likely due to how the teasers were released. Nova likely started with the full cocker and then spun the pump off that cocker. That's why there's a hinge frame on it. Don't like the hinge? Throw a Mozak or a CCM or a Gunfighter on it. Expecting a CCM pump at a budget cost isn't really fair. Nova should have started with the Cocker, and then added the pump kit as an option, and then people wouldn't have lost their mind on the hinge frame.
And the comparison to Meteor is fine, but Meteor is a limited release and not widely available. You can't run a stock pump kit on it without buying an expensive adaptor and didn't come tuned or with an HPR. So Meteor had to cut down on the options to hit the price point they did (and I think the price point was done as a doorcrasher to build the brand) . Nova is the same, but chose different ways to cut the costs. And this is likely due to the fact that they developed a cocker first.
Paintball has largely become stagnant and derivative. A small company comes out with something new and exciting things (balance valve, 3-way replacement, their entire marker lineup) but then gets roasted before people even try the product. Makes it so other innovators look at the response and have to ask themselves if it's worth it.
Really, I'm quite surprised at people's reactions to all this. Let's put the pitchforks down for a bit and see what Nova actually releases at what price point. Without that information we're all just pissing in the wind.Leave a comment:

It has to offer something more or at least DIFFERENT from the new Meteor pump, otherwise it won’t sell. -
I would take aluminum over the delrin Jenny Craig hammer that's available out there. Might work good with a Laz valve
