With Meteor, now this, hopefully pump will start reaching a wider audience. I understand not wanting to build your own if you're new to it, or don't want to spend a ton on a CCM, so this is cool to see

TJ at Nova mentioned on Facebook they will be offering a single slide trigger further down the line, but people were interested in a pump conversion, so they focused on the pump kit first.

I wish they would hand it to someone that plays pump and say what do you want out of this. Then dial it back for costs if they had too.I see a handleful of things i would recommend changing already.

feedneck should be grooved so it doesn't slide down.
pump handle doesn't have an anti twist.
get rid of the hitman plate
      single trigger frame.
no reason to have the barrel wings
      Auto trigger required.
back block looks like it doesn't belong.
If that is a knob on the front, i would much rather have a handle that does not have a rod through it than be able to adjust my tension like the meteor pump kits.

It may not be required, but i can say that having it as a designed optional add on will significantly increase the sales to not having one.

Agree with both of you. It's not needed standard but needs to be an option if they want to sell quantity.

I agree with what others have said. The double trigger is royally uncool and the lack of autotrigger is very unlikely to ever be fixed by the owner so it should be built in from the factory.

This pretty much IS a DIY sniper with those two issues. Include a non-freaked barrel with no detent system and your eBay parts crawl pump is done. Pump fast and eff something up or pump slow and watch your paint roll out. There’s a lot to compare to the Merlin. They are brand new guns with 30 year old design issues left in for…nostalgia?

Overall I have to say I’m super impressed with Nova though. They have an ever widening range of guns and they mostly aren’t boring. They have the quietest gun out, I’m pretty sure. I think I like the push button pump more than this though.

Yes, definitely a fan of what Nova has been doing. It’s fantastic seeing this many offerings from a small company.

I'd wager a decent amount that the barrel is designed for the Nova inserts, as that's what comes with all of their other markers.

Hopefully this is just a mock up and the final product will at least have a single trigger frame

I wonder what their idea of "affordable$$$" is. And I have no problem allowing for time, but this post tells me they don't know what they're doing at the moment. Kind of a vague word salad.

There's a reason the classics don't change much are still beloved. That's like saying "the 69 Mustang is just such an old design, we need to make a hybrid version, modified retro"

The only reason a "new" Cocker based pump has any "classic" features is to feed off nostalgia, so to bitch about people wanting a single trigger frame doesn't make sense to me. Otherwise, why bother with a backblock and full-size body?
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I'm really glad to see Nova jumping in and serving this niche market, but I hope they listen to the feedback they are getting. The early concept looks like a parts bin gun. When Meteor is selling their pump for $400, they've got a tough act to follow.

That was my exact thought. This literally looks like a parts bin cocker, and not one that I would be particularly fond of. The body just looks like a standard slab and the back block doesn't follow the same concepts. The frame looks like ones that I consider the absolute least desirable in a System X swing. And I'm not in love with that pump kit on the front either. I wish anyone working on cockers the best, and hope it does well for them---but this isn't for me.

looks like a systemX hinge. very much needs a single trigger. an auto trigger cam would make it much more desirable as a shooter.

Some other sloppy bits like why the front end and the pump guide aren't both round?
            P block would be better.

With Nova doing the neat things they're doing, I hope they offer a RF option for this. I heavily doubt it, but I'm not buying a brand new pump gun unless it's a R/L feed. I can dream, anyway.

This thing looks like a VERY rough/early design. Lots of things to tweak and add/subtract.

OK guys if anyone has any questions please feel free to give me a call (864)915-9421 and I will answer them for you but we do have a lot happening atm. Our Pump/Semi will go live tomorrow, a lot of people have thought we were out of stock already but what they have seen on our site are just place holders. We did release a few models at ION and again at Michigan Monster Game mainly for test purposes. We would have already released to the public but mainly my fault we haven't. I wanted to really test a lot more till I was satisfied with the results that I was seeing back. As far our cocker pump goes yes we are going to release with our new hinge frame but we will be doing a slider frame I'm sure in the near future. We are currently going with this decision in order to offer a combo kit in the very near future that includes both our new Auto-cocker semi and the front for our Sniper style pump to keep the cost down for the end user. There are a lot of options that are included with our new marker that the drawing just doesn't show.

I don’t think I’m speaking for just myself when I say that there is no point in making a sniper that isn’t as good as the Empire Sniper was the last time they manufactured some and it was pretty good. Ugly, but good. “Good” includes autotrigger that works reliably. It also has to have a single trigger. It’s not a pressure washer it’s a gun. Slider or swing, that part is very much secondary, I personally do not care, it has to be single though. Even a PGP frame is better than the 90s caulk gun/strength tester style. Also, go “quad rod”, seriously. If making an all new gun there’s no reason not to. The quality of the pump stroke is what sells a pump. If it twists it’s not so great.

I LOVE that it’s full block and the ano is so cool. I’m very excited for this.

Id be happy with 3 rods, because quad rod can be a pain. but the twist will kill it for sure.
