Just picked up a Chinese Enco 9x20 today. A good bridge between my small garage and driving across town to use a bigger lathe, which I never make time for. The gearbox is a nice step up over my current garage machine, an Enco 3-in-1. Actually, there are a lot of steps up. But...
The thing sat so long the spindle bearings (32007x tapers) were completely dry and seized, so I have some work cut out for me pressing those off and installing replacements, then getting the preload juuuuust right. Fish scale and a string I suppose, but I hear I'll have to turn down the seat every so slightly for the left bearing first so it "scoots" predictably.Feedback

Had an opportunity to trade up on the lathe and jumped on it. Shoutout to Moodog for being a beast and helping with unloading/ reassembly.
Leblond Regal 13x20 to replace the Chinese 9x20. I can finally get 1" stock through the spindle and cut as coarse as 4tpi. Only downside is max speed is 500rpm, so I'll get better at grinding HSS.

. Couple random shots of my shop. I’ve got 16 DMG Mori NLX’s on the floor, 6 lathes, a couple bridgeports, and some Amada dual column bandsaws.
