I might have an addiction! This Southbend 9C(?) popped up on marketplace today for $200. Needs a real good cleaning to evaluate. Probably going to offload my other lathe. The 12x16' shed is starting to get crowded

Cool thread . Couple random shots of my shop. I’ve got 16 DMG Mori NLX’s on the floor, 6 lathes, a couple bridgeports, and some Amada dual column bandsaws.

Do these count? Even though they've gone a bit soft since I don't wrench anymore and they have bacon grease on them? They can still weld, repair, and know what to do with tools.

Just picked up a Chinese Enco 9x20 today. A good bridge between my small garage and driving across town to use a bigger lathe, which I never make time for. The gearbox is a nice step up over my current garage machine, an Enco 3-in-1. Actually, there are a lot of steps up. But...

The thing sat so long the spindle bearings (32007x tapers) were completely dry and seized, so I have some work cut out for me pressing those off and installing replacements, then getting the preload juuuuust right. Fish scale and a string I suppose, but I hear I'll have to turn down the seat every so slightly for the left bearing first so it "scoots" predictably.

Got the old Southbend back together. Had to make a few parts for itself already. Click image for larger version

It's whatever flat belt that came with the machine.
I need to make a new pulley or bore out the old one for the motor next. It came with a tired old 1/4 hp motor, I had. 3/4 hp one lying around but it has a 5/8" shaft.

Had an opportunity to trade up on the lathe and jumped on it. Shoutout to Moodog for being a beast and helping with unloading/ reassembly.

Leblond Regal 13x20 to replace the Chinese 9x20. I can finally get 1" stock through the spindle and cut as coarse as 4tpi. Only downside is max speed is 500rpm, so I'll get better at grinding HSS.
