Neat! Wonder if it will - A) Break paint like crazy and B) Have velocity adjustment (stock or aftermarket)

maybe that mag fed friendly paint would be a good choice here? Or first strikes !

my tr50s don't break a lot of paint. Now the Roscoe is a blender. The barrel diameter is tighter than the cylinders. I struggle to find paint that fits in the barrel. Most 50 cal paint either breaks or gets stuck.

Well it breaks paint and has no velocity adjustment. So close yet so far.

    Knowing Umarex both are likely.

Looks like they're offering a 15J version as well, which is like 330fps.

We really should start a petition or something for them to either put a darn velocity adjuster on the thing, or at least make an 11J version (about 280fps with that one).

              take my 💸💸💸

              Edit:
Looks like there is going to be a 7.5joules and a 16joules!?!??
The 16 might be nice ... The adjuster from the HDR50 might even fit in it? Or the remote adapter with a variable reg ...
(Sorry for the lack of credit, I don't remember who did this ...)
Also there is a holster available.
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

One of the biggest issues seems to be about 50% of people interested have misunderstood what the purpose of the velocity adjuster is. Despite my many times stating in various post, videos, descriptions, etc... that this was designed to bring velocity under 300 fps (92 m/s) for paintball usage, about half of the people who have contacted me to buy one have believed this was intended to increase output.

That suck Im always worried when I come up with things for others that they will understand what they want ...

Personally i think its great idea with awesome execution.

I don't understand the pistol market these days, it seems pretty basic to me, I must be overthinking it or something

                1) velocity adjustable and able to shoot 280fps
                2) easy to change 12g

That's all you need! Why is it so difficult!?!?

The 12g are a pain... So I made a speed wheel for them (3D printed) ... Now it's supper easy to swap 12g on the field.

Also, let's remember that the umarex line is for the self defense market, and not really intended for paintball use ...

I'm with trbo. I know it's an engineering challenge to jam .68 caliber into a revolver package, but if it doesn't check off a short-list of basic requirements then what's the point, at least to us in the game of paintball.

Ah well, no doubt the MCB Engineering Department will get a few running

I understand these are for home defense but why not a velocity adjuster? You could crank it up for home defense and set it properly for paintball. It would work great in both markets. I like their products but the lack of adjustments is a deal breaker for me. I had the TR-50 and it felt great and did work. But not being able to adjust it and using 12g was too much of a hassle. I know that there's air adapters now (that Umarex said will work on this .68 version as well) but the only way it was field legal initially was by shooting 10 shots out before you went on the field. I feel like they get so close but don't really understand the home defense or paintball industries. For home defense I want something that's really going to hit hard for defense and for paintball I need to adjust it. They could do it all in one product if they would just finish it out properly. They have to hear the complaints but never really address them. /rant

Why not factory velocity adjuster? Gun laws. They make the different Joule versions of the product to fit gun laws in specific countries. If it had a factory velocity adjuster installed, A person in England (7.5 Joule limit) could buy it legally and crank it up to an illegal 16 Joule velocity. Parliament would then penalize Umarex

Ah, lawyers. Enough said. William The Third, good to know you have that out there. I didn't hate the 50 cal version but the lack of adjustment made it useless. Good to know there is an option.

My assumption is that Umarex is more concerned about their products complying with various European airgun laws and isn't willing to jepordize their airgun/self defense market for these things by designing them with paintball-friendly features. Any airgun that shoots or can be easily made to shoot stronger than 7.5 joules is classified as a firearm in Germany.

That being said, if Umarex were to develop a second version specifically for the paintball market and leaned in with adjustable velocity, a threaded barrel, and made it easy to clean, I feel as though the sales would be worth their investment.

If they're the kind of engineering-led company I've worked for in the past then market research and customer experience will be wayyyy down the priority list. Risk aversion will be up near the top (mostly due to uncertainty caused by said lack of research...). All signs suggest that's the case to date.
