I haven't watched the video, and was an early preorder for a pair of thumpers. one worked out of the box, the other just needed to be turned down (velocity was adjusted too high to function from the assembly). sold both quickly while still functioning due to valve complaints from others and the size of the breach (oversized receiver with small paint sucked). I wouldn't be opposed to buying a more thought out & tested product. I agree with previous posters that while their launchers are practically an industry standard, possibly doing a short run of their revised design and allow them to be field tested with option to buy on-site may improve their image. if successful, do a full run & use some of the proceeds to make right what went wrong on the previous versions

Fully agreed. I've got not horse in this race, but I personally won't buy a product from a company that had a product issue they never reconciled on a flagship item. Spending energy on new customers when there are disappointed old ones just doesn't jive with me.

super squirrel, Welcome to MCB or welcome back whichever it is. What I was referring too in reference to comments was William the Third posted a web comic earlier as a joke with some silly rude comments.

I hope they’re planning on giving prototypes for people to test in the blazing heat, blazing humidity, and frigid tundras, prior to release.

I was too young and broke when these first came around, thank god, but if they’ve solved all the issues that plagued the original generation I’d be willing to take a chance on one.

Metadyne is going to be sending test units to designated players. We are also planning on attending games once we have enough markers in hand. We are not relying on you believing us. The videos we are putting out are for information only to let people know we have reworked the marker.

I would like to thank Brian for helping us get the word out on this marker. I have been reading all the comments on this thread as well as others on social platforms. We understand that there are concerns and we hope to address them through our own videos as well as feedback from outside sources such as Brain. One of the concerns is the people who purchased thumper. We are talking about ways to address this. Unfortunately it is not as simple as fixing the original thumper if it was we would not have redesigned it. But we are conscious of those who purchased one from us. We have the original list of buyers and will do our best to make it right. I have been shooting the markers daily as we get ready to send them out to testers. Our goal is to send out a few markers to names in the industry then we are going to hit the road and go to games so we can get these into the hands of players and get their feedback on site. Here is a quick video of the first marker to hit 3000 fires without issue. I do not have a time lapse video of this. I did it over several week 100 shots at a time. the videos we are putting out are for information only to let you know we fixing the design flaws. We are hoping that once we get feedback from the testers and there video's it will help ease your minds.

      Thanks

      Scott

This is good to read. Not only the part about making it right, but also that this a totally redesigned. Yeah will make it harder to make it right. But that too will also go a long way to your relaunch and rebuild of the reputation.

Best of luck and yes down the line i can see myself picking one up.

They had two one each side but were removable. I don’t remember if they were sold as accessories or not. Not all of them seem to still have them installed.

If you want to have a lot of feedback and increase the shot count quickly, come to Stocktoberfest in september. Many of us will be there and all play stock class. Capital Dave had an original thumper at the Stock Classic game last May.

I remember watching thumpers take a shit in peoples hands before a game. I was on a large team and like, 3-4 different guys had them. I wanted one and then was like nah, no thanks.

I’ll buy one though, I’ll give it a shot. I always thought this design was awesome.

Update video. Lots of cool features, like adjustable grip frame position and adjustable gas through ASA

It would be nice to have a front grip option, especially for using the thumb paddles.

Not sure i like the adjustable frame/asa. I don't mind it being air thru, but it doesn't seem like a firm way to lock everything down. I think i'd rather see a couple options for a machined version like the phantom style blocks/old style thumper frame.

I posted this in its own thread but I wanted to put it here too for those that have been following...

                Metadyne Phoenix Review 1

I attended the Halo event at EMR this past weekend and put the Metadyne Phoenix through the paces.

Looks and feel: Its a good looking marker. Its not "pretty' like a CCM but looks tough and kind of futuristic. With no barrel or tank its small. It can be set up with a horizontal load tube or with a hopper adapter. I used a hopper. With a 2 piece Freak and a 48/4500 tank it felt comfortable and tight. Lots of positive remarks from those that saw it and checked it out.

Performance: I was very impressed. I was nice and consistent at the chrono. Once I had it set I was getting 279/277/279. In game it was simply tons of fun! I do wish...and others made the same comment...that it had some sort of foregrip. It would make use of the side levers more natural feeling. The marker performed flawlessly while I used a gravity feed Proto loader. When I switched to a Rotor it put too much pressure on the paint and I got a break. This brings up one big issue with it...when you inevitably get a ball break in the marker, it's design makes it difficult to clean without disassembling it. No simple squeegee job to keep you in the game. The marker does have auto trigger but I didn't really use it because I didn't know about it until the end lol.

Overall: This marker is a lot of fun and will definitely get regular use. It will be interesting to see how the final product comes out but im very impressed with the prototype. I put about 500 rounds through it and ut worked great! It's late so I've left a lot out lol...so ask questions if you have them and I'll do my best to respond to each.

What kind of input pressure dose it like?

What kind of 12g performance can we expect?

Im really interested in its Stock Class attributes.
