Got mine in. It had a plate, so I went ahead and set it up with the CCM trashcan reg I've been meaning to use on a build. The main spring mine came with was 1/4" or more shorter than a regular cocker spring. I didn't like having to screw the IVG in so far, so I threw a CCM spring in there and have it shooting 300 with the included valve spring.

I haven't checked every screw, but the one thing that was kind of annoying is that the hammer lug takes a 2 or 3mm allen instead of the usual standard size. Everything else seems to be standard that I've tested so far. Just a little weird to mix hardware IMO.

...designed/made in the EU where metric > SAE, its not a leap that is the reason why.

I get why they would, it just seems silly to make everything else standard and then have one part take metric tools. The last Meteor I worked on for someone I think I swapped it out for a lug that took standard wrenches just for ease of use.

The knob on the front of the pump handle seems a little unnecessary since you have to use an allen key to adjust the internal stop and I think most people will be setting and forgetting it 99% of the time. I think a flat faced plug may have been a bit nicer looking. The handle feels nice to my hand and the bearings are working to prevent twist, so it's doing a good job at what it does.

They're very minor complaints, closer to just observations since the marker is very solid, especially considering the price point.

I used SAE on my hammer lug to remove it. It’s metric tho?

My only gripe is the feed neck sits pretty high. It feeds great tho.

Anybody tested it with unregulated co2 yet?

I wouldn't recommend that as the meteor valve runs pretty low

The valve can run it, you may need to change the *hammer spring. Try it and let us know. Stock pressure on a regular meteor mech is 300-350psi

Couple questions while I impatiently wait. What carrier was used for shipping? Wondering how bad I'm going to get hit at the border. Also will a standard 98+ plate work with the frames or does it need to be a Meteor one? I have a few spare plates kicking around.

Conical Compression Spring, they allow more movement without the coils bottoming out on each other. Not really necessary on a valve IMO but would not cause an issue spring rates are the same for the diameter and #coils for a given length just allows more compression distance.

That’s cool so they don’t stack on each other and kink. That valve is only moving probably like a 1/16” at most. Maybe the cone shape is due to the large bore the Pump handle fits in. The drill strait through the lower tube. Due to its design it dose not have any steps in it. The pump guide rod seals the front end with some orings held in place by the Vert ASA bolt from the bottom up. It probably saves a bunch of Machine time. Likely why they were able to keep the cost down. Quality to price it’s actually really impressive on this thing it’s really well thought out.

Laz Valve, Aka reg, pops and my favorite barrel. Still needs to be tuned. But it feels great.

Yeah I used the AKA reg I had would have like a dust one. But I may grab a sidewinder for it because this one is actually for another project.

Do you feel it is worth swapping the valve to the laz valve? I was considering snagging one as it seems DYE may be going out of biz within the next year or so.

It’s quite with the Laz. Honesty I didn’t even try the stock valve. I still need to tune it more. I’m sure I can get the operating pressure way down. It’s got a super light pump stroke.

I wonder how they determined who got a trigger and who didn't. I ordered one of the last ones and ended up with a trigger. Weird haha.

Gotta dig a reg out for this now

Might have just been random by the time they got the markers assemble and started to stick labels on them. The last to be built might have been the first to be labeled.

Love it! This classic cut on the right side just like the old custom tournament guns is perfect! Delivering such quality at $400 is impressive. I’ll be back with a mech build on this body.

CCM reg looks nice on it. I’m going to put the stock ASA back on when I get a plug for the other side. I threw a pops on mine because I had it in the toolbox. They shoot really nice. Hopefully more come back in stock at the same price. I know a few people wanting one.

Installed and tested a LaZ valve today. Chasing that 200psi which I got close to but didn’t feel right. The best combo was my 20g stainless speed hammer, light 2” spring, IVG flush, HPR 250psi, reball with the .677 back on the meteor 2-pc barrel. 285fps +-3. I can air rack it the pump stroke is so light. Feeling really smooth.

I had to get in on one of these. The price was just too good.

Sanchez Orbium, VF Tac Ergo reg, and a CP on/off just because it already had fittings.
Dropped the Lazarus valve in, but I'll be lucky if I even have time to test it this weekend.

I take it back, I got the afternoon off unexpectedly. The stars aligned and I actually have decent paint AND air on my first NGD in over 10 years.

Hitting 270-280 fps at 280 psi with the Laz valve. I don't have a light hammer, so I'm actually running the inception heavy hammer with the 2nd lightest inception spring. 2 turns of the IVG.

The inception hammer weighed in at 45 grams on my kitchen scale, and the meteor came in at 48.

              2 questions:

              1. Who has the light hammer connect?
              2. How do you cocker/sniper guys manage to not shred the IVG o-ring? Mine already went on my 2nd spring change.

Isn't the whole point of the IVG O-ring to cut into the threads and provide drag, similar to a nylon screw in a Phantom bolt? Greasing it seems counterproductive.

russc - the oring is still physically interfacing with the threads and adding tension, lubrication just keeps it from "balling up" in the thread vallies.
