Are you running the stock lowers?

I'm guessing the answer is no, but if you are - how are they with co2?

stock lowers, shoots good. Only getting 15-17 shots per 12g but have yet to do any tuning.

Anyone experimented with bolts? I don't have any Evo length, unfortunately. I'd like to upgrade as I've seen a couple people mention substantial velocity increases with just a bolt.

I tested a few bolts and hammers, stock valve and Laz valve.

The bolts with a front oring shot 20-30 FPS faster than the ones without. Very little difference between them, other than the sound. The ID trident was louder than the AKA for example.

      With front oring:
      • AKA Lightning
      • ID trident
      Without front oring:
      • Meteor stock
      • Belsales
      • Shocktech
The stock bolt, valve and hammer feel great with the 2" spring I used, very smooth and a nice combo. I easily hit 300fps with the IVG flush and pressure at 250PSI. For the budget mined person and access to all day air, swap the main spring out for a ~6lbs/in spring and be happy. IF you want to squeeze every last drop of juice from the tank, get the Meteor bolt modded for the front oring, or use a front oring bolt, this gains you ~20fps and the Laz valve will gain you 80FPS or more.
I have a video I can upload if anyone is interested. I''ll follow up with some screenshots.

here are the two hammers I used:
      • custom 20gram hammer + 2g lug
      • stock 46g meteor hammer + 2g lug (kiss polish with 10k grit)
Click image for larger version Name:	20g hammer.jpg Views:	0 Size:	91.1 KB ID:	576333 Click image for larger version Name:	46g hammer.jpg Views:	0 Size:	99.2 KB ID:	576335

without touching the reg, and the IVG always flush with a set mark, reball with same barrel and tank. Only variables I changed was the hammer and valve.

Meteor valve, 20g hammer, 2" spring, IVG flush, 250PSI
Click image for larger version Name:	Meteor valve, with 20g hammer, 2in spring, IVG flush.jpg Views:	0 Size:	248.6 KB ID:	576332

Meteor valve, Meteor 46g hammer, 2" spring, IVG flush, 250PSI
I increased the weight of the hammer by 26g and gained ~100fps. F=MA works!
Click image for larger version Name:	Meteor valve, meteor hammer, 2in spring IVG flush.jpg Views:	3 Size:	244.1 KB ID:	576336

what about using a balanced valve?
Lazerous valve, 20g hammer, 2" spring, IVG flush, 250PSI
I did this test first, then swapped valves, and did the hammer test. 99FPS is a fairly large increase over the stock meteor valve with the same hammer - I want to retest or have peer review, just to make sure the valve wasn't doping.

aside: Clock 66 measures 10fps slower on average but both are consistent. Either the xradar is fast or the clock is slow.

HPR was set to 250PSI, Powerhouse reg on the tank was set to 400PSI for all tests. I did not adjust the HPR. It does make a balance valve design look great from an efficiency perspective.

What was the order-to-ship time from Meteor? I bought a pump kit early last week - said "in stock" - and it still shows as being processed.

EDIT: received a shipping notice after lunchtime, it's on it's way.

Now I just need to buy a slider frame, feedneck, etc for the project.

And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

I talked to them at the beginning of the week and they said they had a parts shipment coming in this week. I asked them to ship my pump complete to avoid extra shipping costs and they said it would likely ship out this week.. Whether that means they have more markers coming for sale I do not know.

I'm very curious about the Angry Antle Jenni Kraig hammer/spring combo, but before I go spending the money on it I wanted to get a better understanding of what's happening with the super-light hammer/spring combo.

        I 3D printed a hammer:

These scales get a little wonky sub 15 grams, but it's safe to say it's less than 15g with the lug installed, so approximated 25-35% of the stock hammer weight.

The gun is stock, including the barrel, with a WGP Ergo reg, a Dye Lazarus Valve, and a freedummy detent(as this is how i would likely run it at the field).

Caveats about the testing I did:

        1. The paint is classic youtube-paintball-gun-test spec. Old, oblong, inconsistent, likely smaller than .68 cal to begin with.
        2. I ran out of air before switching back to the stock hammer so I wasn't able to test fully.
        3. The barrel change from my SM1 barrel at .689 to the stock barrel at .681 probably made the biggest difference in operating pressure:velocity.
        4. I don't know how accurate the CP gauge is.

        Findings:

I was able to hit 270-290(again, bad paint) at approximated 250-260 PSI. The best spring for the mix was the 2" lighter spring. This is approximately 30 psi lower than I was seeing with the Inception hammer.

I simply could not achieve a velocity over 200 FPS below 200 PSI on the CP gauge.

        Springs tested:
Inception Spring kit, approx 2.5" - Lightest, Second Lightest, 2nd heaviest.
        - These were pretty much set with the IVG flush. Some adjustment made, but always returned to flush.
2" WGP style springs - 1x comparable to the second lightest Inception, one slighter stiffer stock WGP spring
        - These were also run flush, brought up to see, but the stiffer spring actually brought the velocity down when turned in??
Shorter springs, approx 1.5-1.75". - Stiff, likely more so than the heaviest inception.
        - This one was turned in to where I could feel the spring tension against valve. When turned up this one just leaked.

Spring changes made a negligible difference over reg pressure, and adjusting the IVG often changed nothing at all. The springing mostly help with stopping barrel leaks at lower pressure. Adjusting the IVG more than 3 turns(from the point of tension) caused barrel leaks, especially with stiffer springs.

I have also purchased a barrel kit, and am still looking at a bolt upgrade. I will test again with more air and better paint to hopefully get a clearer answer here.

I would love to achieve a sub 200 psi shot, but maybe that is a fruitless endeavor, and I should be thankful to have a quiet gun.

Alright, got lucky and had a service call down the street from the local proshop so I filled my tank and continued testing today.

A slight difference in my testing setup. I broke out the reballs, and added a TechT iFit kit with a .670 insert to accommodate reballs.

I was able to hit 275-280ish at around 210 PSI. This is using the 10 gram 3D printed hammer and the softest Inception spring.

I actually went as far as trying the pump kit spring, and I was hitting around 260-270 FPS in the same PSI range, but I found that increasing both the reg pressure and spring tension with the IVG resulted in the velocity dropping.

The light hammer is very interesting, and I feel like once I get a bolt upgrade I will be able to settle in right around 200 PSI. I sent an email to AngryAntle to see about getting one of his hammers shipped up here.

Does anyone know if standard cocker valve springs will work in this body? I know they use a conical spring from factory. If not how about with an aftermarket trilogy spring perch? My Meteor is very farty despite being sweet spotted and I'd like to try a different valve spring.

latches109 I'm try to tune for air efficiency by sweet spotting the reg and adjust the IVG for velocity. This is because I use a 15ci tank. My pressure is somewhere around 350psi. It appears you are leaving your IVG flush and making reg adjustments for velocity right? I've found that typically doesn't work great for efficiency. Although with the 11/16th valve I may be wrong?
