The bolts with a front oring shot 20-30 FPS faster than the ones without. Very little difference between them, other than the sound. The ID trident was louder than the AKA for example.
With front oring:- AKA Lightning
- ID trident
- Meteor stock
- Belsales
- Shocktech
I have a video I can upload if anyone is interested. I''ll follow up with some screenshots.Last edited by latches109; 08-08-2024, 01:26 AM.

here are the two hammers I used:- custom 20gram hammer + 2g lug
- stock 46g meteor hammer + 2g lug (kiss polish with 10k grit)
without touching the reg, and the IVG always flush with a set mark, reball with same barrel and tank. Only variables I changed was the hammer and valve.
Meteor valve, 20g hammer, 2" spring, IVG flush, 250PSI
Meteor valve, Meteor 46g hammer, 2" spring, IVG flush, 250PSI
I increased the weight of the hammer by 26g and gained ~100fps. F=MA works!
what about using a balanced valve?
Lazerous valve, 20g hammer, 2" spring, IVG flush, 250PSI
I did this test first, then swapped valves, and did the hammer test. 99FPS is a fairly large increase over the stock meteor valve with the same hammer - I want to retest or have peer review, just to make sure the valve wasn't doping.
aside: Clock 66 measures 10fps slower on average but both are consistent. Either the xradar is fast or the clock is slow.

What was the order-to-ship time from Meteor? I bought a pump kit early last week - said "in stock" - and it still shows as being processed.
EDIT: received a shipping notice after lunchtime, it's on it's way.
Now I just need to buy a slider frame, feedneck, etc for the project.Last edited by Jordan; Yesterday, 07:14 PM.

Anyone looking to pass one of theirs along already, or do I just need to keep hitting refresh on the website and keep my fingers crossed? The price went up to $449 but it’s still showing as out of stock

I'm very curious about the Angry Antle Jenni Kraig hammer/spring combo, but before I go spending the money on it I wanted to get a better understanding of what's happening with the super-light hammer/spring combo.
I 3D printed a hammer:
These scales get a little wonky sub 15 grams, but it's safe to say it's less than 15g with the lug installed, so approximated 25-35% of the stock hammer weight.
The gun is stock, including the barrel, with a WGP Ergo reg, a Dye Lazarus Valve, and a freedummy detent(as this is how i would likely run it at the field).
Caveats about the testing I did:
1. The paint is classic youtube-paintball-gun-test spec. Old, oblong, inconsistent, likely smaller than .68 cal to begin with.
2. I ran out of air before switching back to the stock hammer so I wasn't able to test fully.
3. The barrel change from my SM1 barrel at .689 to the stock barrel at .681 probably made the biggest difference in operating pressure:velocity.
4. I don't know how accurate the CP gauge is.
Findings:
I was able to hit 270-290(again, bad paint) at approximated 250-260 PSI. The best spring for the mix was the 2" lighter spring. This is approximately 30 psi lower than I was seeing with the Inception hammer.
I simply could not achieve a velocity over 200 FPS below 200 PSI on the CP gauge.
Springs tested:
Inception Spring kit, approx 2.5" - Lightest, Second Lightest, 2nd heaviest.
- These were pretty much set with the IVG flush. Some adjustment made, but always returned to flush.
2" WGP style springs - 1x comparable to the second lightest Inception, one slighter stiffer stock WGP spring
- These were also run flush, brought up to see, but the stiffer spring actually brought the velocity down when turned in??
Shorter springs, approx 1.5-1.75". - Stiff, likely more so than the heaviest inception.
- This one was turned in to where I could feel the spring tension against valve. When turned up this one just leaked.
Spring changes made a negligible difference over reg pressure, and adjusting the IVG often changed nothing at all. The springing mostly help with stopping barrel leaks at lower pressure. Adjusting the IVG more than 3 turns(from the point of tension) caused barrel leaks, especially with stiffer springs.
I have also purchased a barrel kit, and am still looking at a bolt upgrade. I will test again with more air and better paint to hopefully get a clearer answer here.
I would love to achieve a sub 200 psi shot, but maybe that is a fruitless endeavor, and I should be thankful to have a quiet gun.Originally posted by Terry A. DavisGod said 640x480 16 color was a covenant like circumcision.
