just checked and they widened the barrel hole for some reason. phantom barrels will have a pretty significant gap and probly be rattling around in there.
hot dog in a hall way.
my AA cocker barrel fits in there great but ASP roundhead bodies do not.

      @Riot
heres a video just showing how much play there is without a body inside, ill put it together proper and send another.
will most likely not be as bad with a standard thickness grip frame to keep things aligned

Can we officially call them Peking Duckslides now?

I figured finish quality would be lacking once they popped up raw despite being “out for anno” at one point.

What are we thinking on fixes? I bet we could get a bushing 3d printed to fix the barrel slop pretty easy, but making room for the cci metal feed is gonna be a bitch comparatively

BTW this is exactly the type of piece you should 3d print and test before finalizing a design, no real excuse to have some of these mistakes. Still appreciate Nova making these because nobody does, but it’s a little piss in the punchbowl to recreate a high end product with obvious issues

I had Kit mill my Duckslide to have the feed attach directly to the body. I'd think that he or any other airsmith should be able to make the slot wider and get rid of the divots milled into the front of the slot.

ok, so the Nova guys just called me and we talked for an hour on FB Messenger Audio.
The widened barrel hole is "so they can fit a variety of aftermarket barrels."
Me: Phantoms are not autocockers. There are a few other brands and sizes but the overwhelming majority of folks will want standard size.
Nova: " That would be too expensive. We are keeping the bigger size."
          Me: The feedneck issues
Nova: Totally our fault, we will fix anyones slide if they need it widened.

How would a smaller hole be more money? Unless...
I'm betting they are using the same extrusion I use to make my ducks.

Reading everything here, and jokes aside (just this once), I think seeing how they handle the feedback and any issues that the bodies(?) may have is how ill make a determination.

Based on my previously positive experiences and their willingness to reply, I don’t want to write them off like they Metadyne’d us.

Looking forward to seeing some completed projects with these.

so, there is a single goober on FB that is crying about not being able to use his with a hopper.
now they are telling him the new run will be cut for that.
im trying to convince them that 99% of folks do not want that.
            lets see how it goes...

            Riot, not great news.

Nova: "All nova slides are built to looser tolerances to smooth out the pump stroke and accommodate any variance in the size of the parts used underneath."

Me: No, all the bodies/valves/frames/barrels anybody will be using with these will be extremely close in size.
The original Duckslide was a great success partly due to its tight tolerances and the consistency of one phantom to the next.

so, I just put mine together with internals and everything and the play at the barrel is almost just as bad. and theres wobble down the whole length.
to them, excessive scratching and rattling around is a feature, not a flaw.

redsquirrel maybe! apparently, theyve had 2 guys ask for that. i dont get it at all.
i think its folks who have never played stock class and think theyll be outgunned unless they have a hopper.

So they're already working on a v2, and if you bought the v1 you can just get it swapped for the V2.

Multiple people have offered advice, designs, critiques and solutions for some of the things that nova has designed and released. Many of those things were not implemented, but were clearly pointed out early in production. I know because i regularly talk to some of those people that offered advice. They want people to enjoy and shoot autocockers, not see them as a pain to work on because of changes that could have and or should have been made pre-production with a simple conversation.

Shortened the quote to remove a bunch of autococker specific detail, but i feel like this applies to this very specific situation.
Maybe they should have had someone that actually uses a phantom assemble and test it..... before going into full production.

There are multiples of us in the state.....Myself, grendel, Nish, Plus multiples that are local to me.
